We love to visit my Father who lives in Southern Greece at Easter, which is one of the best times to visit. Fewer tourists, beautiful wildflowers as far as the eye can see, and usually some decent sunshine (and always good food!)  

There is an estimated 2360 different plant species in the areas of mount Taigetos and Parnon where he lives (in Mystras) and I can honestly say that it is the very definition of heaven on earth walking in fields of wild red anemones and purple and yellow irises.

As you can imagine my phone is filled to the brim with photos which I thought would be nice to put in a phot blog here- although it is really difficult to capture the true abundance of the flora. That is why I have added some videos (put the sound on to hear the almost deafening sound of insects and birds)

I hope they transport you to heaven just a little bit …
