A whirlwind of a week

It has been another whirlwind week! I didn’t think things could get any madder but indeed they have…

Saturday

First up, the exciting trip I alluded to in my last mailer was to Paris to celebrate an important birthday for a dear friend.

After sipping champagne, we had a private tour of the Dior museum. It is beautifully arranged and certainly worth a visit if you are interested in fashion.

We were then treated to an amazing supper in the beautiful drawing room of Monsieur Dior. Before the days of huge expensive catwalk shows and digital media campaigns, this is where models used to parade in front of the press and wealthy customers. Apparently the shows lasted 2.5 hours long!

Dresses of dreams – I’d love to wear the red one!

The trip back soon brought us back to earth. The Eurostar got stuck in the actual tunnel for two hours, which made me feel mildly hysterical.

Monday

On Monday, we had a meeting with our fabric manufacturers to sign off the new collection which is launching in January. I am really beside myself with excitement about this and it is such torture not being able to share any of it yet.

In fact I can’t actually contain myself, so here is a sneaky peak of one our new designs that will be printed on velvet. It is not for the faint hearted but I can see a show-stopping chair upholstered in it.

Sneak peak of new collection

All of the plants in the designs were collected in my friend Tania’s amazing gardens in Wiltshire and from Black Shed Flower Farm In Dorset. I need to give the collection a name and was thinking of ‘Wiltshire Garden’ or ‘Wiltshire wander’. I would love to hear any poetic suggestions you might have!

Wednesday

On Wednesday we had a site meeting for the house which is cracking along. Almost all the windows are in now.

There are still daily decisions to be made and I am paralysed about which flooring to chose. It is such a big decision.

Friday

And to round off the week, I am off to the Chelsea flower show! It’s always such an amazing source of inspirationg. I shall be writing a blogpost about this, so stay tuned.

Next week, our studio will be shut for the whole week. There won’t be a mailer, so I’d like to wish you an amazing Jubilee bank holiday weekend early!
