This is a very exciting week for us as we have launched 16 NEW murals on
our website! It has been a lot of work doing these designs, but we are
learning so much as we go along, and I am really thrilled with how they have come out.

I have talked about this design quite a bit lately as it adorns one of our beautiful bed linens, but of course it looks amazing cascading down a wall exactly as it does in nature. As so many of us have furniture against the wall, the twisting colourful vines flowing from the ceiling mean they can be seen in all their glory.
The many colour ways evolved from hours of experimenting with ombré screen printing in the studio...

The inspiration for this flowing design came from my big trip to the cloud forests of Costa Rica. I photographed hundreds of species of ferns and epiphytes (plants which grow in trees) creating an extensive library of botanical images. The Kaleidoscope mural features many of these beautiful trailing plants and vines, winding their way delicately across the wall.
The pattern within the leaves is actually a remix of my Serendipity design, creating a psychedelic twist that adds just the right touch of playfulness!

Strata
Strata in Sunstone
This design (also on bed linen) is one that I have made a few attempts with over the years. In January I was playing around painting lots of tonal watercolour stripes inspired by the subtle colours found in rock strata, and I then tore my paintings into strips and collaged the pieces together to create these gentle undulating stripes. The design appeared quite effortlessly - sometimes you can’t force these things to happen!
This ombré design is very versatile as it can be hung either way round with the darkest part at the top or the bottom.
