No man (or woman) is an island, so I thought it would be fun to share the faces of the amazing people who help me run my business. I really and truly couldn’t do it without them! In no particular order I would like to introduce…

Rose

 

What is your job role? Working with Clarissa on new designs for various items like bedlinen, murals and cushions

What’s a typical day like for you? A real mixture… mostly designing on the computer but also screen printing, developing new products, planning for photoshoots… no two days are ever the same!

What’s your go to drink at your desk? Tea please… and often!

What’s your all time favourite colour combination? Orange with green… Orange with pink… I love orange, it’s too hard to choose!

If you were a plant, which one would you be an why? I guess I have no choice but to say a Rose!

What’s your favourite season? A lovely sunny but crisp Autumn

What’s your favourite design trend at the moment? Maximalism! Luckily the studio is packed with colour and plants so it’s got me covered

Sophie

What is your job role? A bit of everything! Marketing, PR, Website admin, and as the resident Gen Z I have been nominated as head of all things technology!

If you could have any superpower to help with your work, what would it be? Multitasking – I’d love to be filming content with Clarissa, whilst also scheduling emails and Pinterest posts… and making myself a cup of tea at the same time!

What’s your favourite design trend at the moment? I am loving the resurgence of rich, retro colours – paired with biophilic elements of plants and warm wood tones

How do you like to unwind after a busy day at the studio? Either a yoga class, or with my feet up on the sofa watching some trash TV…

Which cat matches your energy the most? It’s got to be Bertie – I am constantly jealous of his naps in warm sunny patches of the studio, and only waking up for treats

What’s your favourite part of working at Clarissa Hulse? I love how varied it is, no two days are the same. Plus being able to work in a plant and colour-filled studio alongside lovely women and cats!

What is your job role? Sales and e-commerce manager, and chief cat treat officer

What’s your go-to drink at your desk? COFFEE – mugs of it

If you could swap jobs with anyone in the studio for a day, who would it be and why? Stanley – to practice the best sleeping positions around the studio

If you could have any superpower to help with your work, what would it be? Memory girl – to be able to remember what I did or say the day before!

How do you like to unwind after a busy day at the studio? Cycling back home and having a hug from my family

If you were a plant, which one would you be and why? A Money Plant – I love the idea of being a lucky charm while looking green and lovely.

What’s your favourite season? Autumn – warm-ish, colourful, closing down for a change

Sue

 

What is your job role? Buying and licencing manager, and queen of spreadsheets!

What’s your go-to drink at your desk? Water – at least 12 glasses a day!

If you could swap jobs with anyone in the studio for a day, who would it be and why? Stanley – he gets to hang out in the most comfy places

How do you like to unwind after a busy day at the studio? After work drinks, and the theatre on special occasions!

What’s your all-time favourite colour combination? Grey and blush with an extra splash of grey!

What’s your favourite season? Spring (a proper spring with sunshine and blue skies – not like the one we had this year!)

Clarissa

 

What is your job role? General boss person

What’s a typical day like for you? Wake up, blink and then the day is over!

What’s your go to drink at your desk? Lapsang Souchong tea in a tea pot, with lemon zest. I am a nightmare to make tea for

If you could swap jobs with anyone in the studio for a day, who would it be and why? Lulu. Naps all day on the studio show bed followed by the odd stretch, a stoke on the chin and snack.

If you could have any superpower to help with your work, what would it be? To make time stand still so I could get twice as much done!

What’s your all-time favourite colour combination? I think Autumn as I adore all the rich colours, and it is seedhead time.

What’s your favourite design trend at the moment? I am happy that pattern and print is so popular...so I have to say maximalism!
