These floral clusters of upturned chandeliers belong to the giant fennel, cutting dramatic silhouettes on the hillside near Mystras in southern Greece. Clarissa photographed these majestic umbellifers while on holiday there, then worked on the images by hand to create the perfect motif which was put into large-scale repeat. She experimented with various ombré colour combinations, some of which have been used in the celebrated Callista fabric & wallpaper collection. The design ties together three generations of Clarissa’s family, being both a reminder of her Greek mother’s birthplace and the name of her daughter, Angelica.
Angeliki is jacquard woven in a fine 300 thread count cotton, using threads graduating from the deepest teal blue to soft aqua tones and with a stone-coloured motif. A hand-printed linen cushion features the popular Smokebush design, its bold rounded leaves providing a graphic statement, and a sumptuous peacock cotton velvet throw completes the collection.
